Play up your own style for prom
Whether you're traditional or a risk-taker, getting ready for prom is about finding the look to fit your personality

From sassy to earthy, there's a prom look for you.
REBEL GIRLThe only thing she's willing to conform to? Trends that fit her punky taste. She keeps her classmates guessing on what her next act of fashion rebellion will be. She may love black, but her style choices have a vintage feel that doesn't get too gothic.

I was a crazy punky chick but at a prom I decided to dress up as Scarlett O Hara with ringlets and all... ouch even a corset. I bought white gloves and had the whole huge dress thing going. Just for something to do. Many of the others I of course just wore black, or vintage fifties era dresses. Ah, school, those were the days...long time ago.
Kind of OT, but kinda not.
A girl down in West Palm Beach started a prom dress donation deal. You can donate your last year's dress and stores can donate dresses that don't sell. If a girl can't afford the big bucks for a prom dress she can choose one from the donations for free. I think this is such a cool idea and a sweet one too.

I actually wrote this piece.. sorry if i offended.. but no self-respecting SMU sorority girl would wear this dress - i chose it cause it was a lil non-traditional - the big polka dots, the brite pink flower, the cheap chiffon...so it is a lil punky, a lil rockabilly and rebellious - without going into gothic - all black territory -i stand by my words...

Ok, then, because big polka dots just seem to scream out Ellie Mae Clampitt, instead of the comforting darkness of the Goth culture?
